DripDrop Zero Sugar Plus

PearlQuant rating
★★★★★★★★★★★★3.375/ 6
  • Clinical evidence★★0.375Partly supported: salted drinks are retained better than water in trials, but at larger volumes than one stick; the magnesium and the vitamin C and zinc claims rest on trials of higher doses with mixed results, and we found no trial behind the B-vitamin 'metabolism' claim.
  • Third-party tested★★0No certification found for this product: NSF certifies other DripDrop drinks but does not list Zero Sugar Plus, and DripDrop posts no lab certificates.
  • Free of synthetic dyes★★1No synthetic dyes: all four flavors are colored with vegetable juice.
  • Free of artificial sweeteners★★1No artificial sweeteners: sweetened with stevia leaf extract only.
  • Unique formulation★★0.5Some differences (2 g glycine, zinc and more B vitamins), but the core formula is common: Liquid I.V. Sugar Free also pairs sodium and potassium with amino acids and B vitamins, sugar-free.
  • Price vs competitors★★0.5$1.56 a serving, against a median of $1.05 across 7 competitors (checked 9 Oct 2026): 1.49 times the median.
Evidence by claim, and how we rate
  • Faster, longer-lasting hydrationB · ½ star
Claimed: “faster, longer-lasting hydration than water alone, using the sodium-amino cotransport system to accelerate fluid absorption” (bullet 2); “fast hydration support” (bullet 1); “FAST HYDRATION' and 'FASTER ABSORBING” (box front, main image); “fast hydration into your cells” (gallery image 7)
Credited: Sodium 660 mg, Potassium 360 mg, Chloride 160 mg, Magnesium 80 mg, Calcium 40 mg, Phosphorus 60 mg, Glycine 2 g

In small controlled trials, drinks with 40-61 mmol/L of sodium (one stick in 16 oz makes about 61 mmol/L) were retained better than water or low-sodium drinks, but people drank far more than one 16-oz serving (usually 1 liter or more). The 'faster, through sodium-amino acid co-transport' part is not supported: in seven randomized trials in children with diarrhea, rehydration salts containing glycine did no better than the standard solution, and a drink with added amino acids kept no more fluid in the body than flavored water. • B vitamins for metabolismC · 0 stars
Claimed: “B-Complex vitamins to promote metabolism” (bullet 4); “B-COMPLEX VITAMINS Promote metabolism” (gallery image 3)
Credited: Riboflavin 0.4 mg, Niacin 17.7 mg, Vitamin B6 1.9 mg, Folate 395 mcg DFE (231.7 mcg folic acid), Vitamin B12 5.3 mcg, Biotin 5 mcg, Pantothenic acid 8.9 mg

We found no randomized trial showing that B vitamins in these amounts boost metabolism in people who are not deficient; the closest trial gave 32 young adults a different B-vitamin tablet (with vitamin B1, which this product lacks) and measured running time and fatigue markers. PMID 37786445 ›

  • Magnesium for muscle functionB · ½ star
Claimed: “magnesium to support muscle function” (bullet 4); “MAGNESIUM Supports muscle function” (gallery image 3)
Credited: Magnesium (as magnesium citrate) 80 mg

The trial that found a benefit used 300 mg of magnesium a day (one stick has 80 mg), improving a physical-performance score in older women over 12 weeks; a review of 14 trials found no muscle benefit in athletes or active people, and a Cochrane review found magnesium unlikely to prevent cramps in older adults. PMID 25008857 › PMID 29637897 › PMID 32956536 ›

  • Vitamin C and zinc for immunityB · ½ star
Claimed: “VITAMIN C & ZINC Added immune support” (gallery image 3); “For metabolism & immune support” (gallery image 4); “to support hydration, metabolism, muscle function, and immune support” (product description Q&A); “Immune Support” (product details, Product Benefits)
Credited: Vitamin C (as ascorbic acid) 140 mg, Zinc (as zinc citrate) 3.1 mg

Vitamin C trials used at least 200 mg a day (one stick has 140 mg) and did not prevent colds in most people, though regular use shortened them slightly; a Cochrane review of zinc found little or no effect on preventing colds, and its lozenge trials gave more zinc than one stick's 3.1 mg. PearlQuant recommendation

DripDrop is competing in a dense market of electrolyte products. Our recommendation is based on the claims that it is NOT produced with artificial sweeteners or dyes. Additionally, each stick adds magnesium (80 mg, 19% DV) and potassium (360 mg, 8% DV) for athletes not satisfied with only a salt supplement.
